People considering bankruptcy, often feel like they are the only ones going through this tough time. The Bankruptcy Court releases the number of bankruptcies filed every quarter. In 2014, approximately 936,000 bankruptcies were filed in the United States. This number is down from the height of the recession in 2010 when approximately one and a half million bankruptcies were filed. In Massachusetts 10,394 cases were filed in 2014, of those 8,113 were Chapter 7 cases.
